How to confirm which doctor is working on your preferred day
How to make an appointment
Emergency care does not require a routine appointment. Scheduled outpatient services and physician visits use different routes.

General inpatient visitation period.
Subject to the patient’s clinical condition and treatment in progress.
Clinical circumstances can still affect who may remain with the patient.

Before visiting
- Confirm the patient’s unit and whether the patient is accepting visitors.
- Plan to arrive during the 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. inpatient visitor period.
- Follow unit-specific instructions for intensive care, isolation, maternity or procedural areas.

Doctor appointment fee
No single Bayfront physician consultation fee applies to every doctor. Cost can vary by specialty, visit complexity, new/established patient status, tests, insurance and whether facility charges apply.
Emergency fee
There is no one published Bayfront ER total. Emergency charges depend on triage level, physician care, diagnostic tests, imaging, medications, procedures and whether admission is required.

Case-management fee
Bayfront publishes a Case Management department number (727-893-6117) but does not publish a standard standalone “case fee.”
How to get an estimate before planned care
Bayfront billing, payment and payment plans
Orlando Health bills insurance, Medicare or Medicaid when appropriate, but patients can still receive balances for deductibles, copays, coinsurance and non-covered services.
Why you might receive more than one bill
Bayfront explains that patients may receive separate bills from the hospital and from professionals such as a personal physician, surgeon, pathologist, radiologist or another healthcare practitioner.
If you do not have insurance
Orlando Health Bayfront states that a patient will not be denied necessary medical care because of lack of insurance or inability to pay. However, uninsured patients may be asked for a deposit when admitted or when registering for a scheduled outpatient procedure.

Hospital size and facility information
Bayfront has served St. Petersburg for more than 110 years and is part of Orlando Health. Current bed-count descriptions differ depending on the source and definition: Florida’s state facility profile currently lists 416 licensed beds, while Orlando Health’s own hospital description refers to Bayfront as a 480-bed hospital. The difference can reflect how licensed beds and broader facility capacity are counted, so this guide does not collapse the two figures into an unsupported single number.
