Le Bonheur opened in 1952 and today functions as a regional quaternary pediatric referral hospital. More than half of its hospital beds are dedicated to children requiring the highest levels of intensive and critical care.

Le Bonheur states that its 20-bed PICU is the only pediatric unit in the region staffed 24 hours a day by physicians specializing in pediatric critical care.

Gastroenterology

Le Bonheur’s GI program treats infants, children and adolescents with digestive, pancreatic, liver and nutritional disorders. The team currently includes seven board-certified pediatric gastroenterologists.

Medically underinsured program

The current policy also states that an insured patient with a patient-responsibility balance greater than $5,000 from one encounter may qualify for a 25% discount on that patient responsibility, subject to policy conditions.

How to apply

Le Bonheur files insurance claims for insured patients. After the insurer pays its portion, the family is billed for any applicable patient responsibility.

Current visitor guidance

• Visitors who are sick should postpone their visit.

Overnight family stay

All patient rooms are private and have sleeping space for two family members. Le Bonheur encourages parents or caregivers to stay with their child when possible.

Handicap spaces are available in the visitor lot and garage. From the Manassas garage, take the elevator to the Ground Floor and follow signs to the main hospital.

FedExFamilyHouse

Current Le Bonheur information states that FedExFamilyHouse offers 75 rooms/suites, 24-hour security, shuttle service, kitchens, dining areas, recreation space and family work areas.

Child Life

Child Life specialists help children prepare for procedures, cope with hospitalization and express emotions through play and developmentally appropriate education.
