Is there a published live Elmhurst ER wait time?

Endeavor Health does not currently publish a guaranteed live wait-time figure on the Elmhurst Hospital Emergency Department location page. An ER wait time can change within minutes because ambulances, trauma activations, strokes, cardiac emergencies and other high-acuity cases receive priority.

Can you make an ER appointment?

Emergency Department visits are not normal scheduled appointments. If you need emergency care, go to the Emergency Department or call 911 when appropriate.

Can calling ahead reserve your position?

Emergency Department visitor access may be adjusted for patient safety, privacy, infection precautions, room capacity, security concerns and the clinical condition of the patient. Follow the instructions provided by the ER team when you arrive.

Current masking guidance

Endeavor Health currently requires patients and visitors to mask when experiencing respiratory-virus symptoms. It also strongly recommends masking in high-risk care areas, and the health system specifically includes emergency departments in its definition of high-risk areas.

If a family member cannot remain at bedside

Ask the nurse how the department will communicate updates and whether there is an appropriate waiting area. Restrictions can differ depending on the patient’s situation.

Endeavor Health offers an online medical-record request process. A particularly important current detail is that, since May 16, 2025, Elmhurst Hospital no longer accepts mail or in-person medical-record requests. Elmhurst patients should use the online request option.

Patient portal status in August 2026

As of this article’s update date, Elmhurst Hospital patients still use Edward-Elmhurst MyChart. Endeavor Health has announced that this portal will transition to MyEndeavor on November 7, 2026.

After that transition, recent care and active portal functions move to MyEndeavor, while the older Edward-Elmhurst MyChart account remains in limited/read-only use for certain historical information and pre-transition bills.

Endeavor Health allows online bill payment and payment-plan arrangements for qualifying balances. If a statement is unclear, ask specifically whether the charge is a hospital facility charge, physician/professional charge or another service.

Portal billing transition

For Elmhurst care before the November 7, 2026 portal conversion, patients continue using Edward-Elmhurst MyChart for applicable historical bills. Care on or after the transition date will move into MyEndeavor billing according to Endeavor Health’s announced timeline.
