The pediatric Emergency Department is approximately 17,300 square feet and includes 34 examination rooms, a trauma bay and three care zones designed to move children through evaluation efficiently.
St. Christopher’s says the ED evaluates more than 69,000 children and adolescents each year. The department has dedicated pediatric emergency medicine physicians, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, specially trained pediatric nurses, behavioral-health space, video interpretation and social-work support.
Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
St. Christopher’s is one of only three Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in Pennsylvania. The hospital treats serious injuries ranging from fractures and head injuries to complex multisystem trauma.
Verified Pediatric Burn Center
