Dedicated emergency parking is available near the East Walker Avenue entrance.

What happens after arrival?

Triage. A nurse evaluates the patient’s symptoms, vital signs and immediate level of medical risk.
Urgency determines treatment order. A patient with a more serious condition may be treated before someone who arrived earlier.
Diagnostic testing may be ordered. This may include laboratory work, imaging, ECG or other emergency tests.
The emergency team treats and reassesses. Specialists may be involved when the condition requires specialty treatment.
Discharge, observation or admission. Patients may go home with instructions, remain under observation or be admitted to an inpatient unit.

Stroke emergency

SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Oklahoma City is a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospital specifically directs stroke patients through the Emergency Department.

For sudden facial drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty or other possible stroke symptoms, call 911. Do not drive around the campus trying to locate an outpatient neurology office.

How to make an appointment

SSM Health uses specialty-specific scheduling and MyChart rather than one fixed appointment number for every doctor.

Choose the service you need. Primary care, cardiology, OB/GYN, gastroenterology, oncology and other specialties use different offices.
Use the physician directory or MyChart. SSM Health displays live appointment options for many providers.
Call the specialty if online times are unavailable. Several important Midtown clinic numbers are listed below.
Verify insurance and referral requirements. Some plans require a referral or prior authorization.
Check the exact address. Your physician office may be at 608 N.W. Ninth St., 535 N.W. Ninth St. or another nearby building rather than inside 1000 N. Lee.
Use eCheck-In before eligible visits. MyChart can allow patients to complete parts of registration before arrival.

Dedicated neonatal intensive-care capacity.

Patients who are still in early labor may be monitored in an outpatient observation area before formal admission.

Birthing-room features

  • Private birthing suites
  • Baby bathing, weighing and measurements in the room when appropriate
  • Rollaway bed so a support person can remain overnight
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Room service
  • Concierge access
  • Breastfeeding support

Level II NICU

St. Anthony Hospital has a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with capacity for 15 neonatal patients.

The NICU is staffed by neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and neonatal registered nurses. Rooms include space designed to support parents staying with and participating in their newborn’s care.

Baby-Friendly designation

Joyful Beginnings is currently identified by SSM Health as a Baby-Friendly designated hospital, recognizing maternity practices that support breastfeeding education and mother-baby care.

Outpatient breastfeeding help

International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants provide outpatient consultations even for mothers who did not deliver at St. Anthony or do not use an SSM Health physician.

Call 405-272-6207 to schedule lactation support. Most major insurance is accepted, but check whether your plan requires a referral.

Because the west Lee Avenue entrance is currently affected by construction, expectant parents should review current Joyful Beginnings access instructions before the due date rather than waiting until active labor.

Doctor fees, emergency fees and hospital costs

SSM Health does not publish one fixed consultation or emergency-room fee that accurately represents every patient.

Personalized Price Estimate (844) 989-6292

Email: price.estimates@ssmhealth.com

SSM Health publishes an online price-estimate tool and a machine-readable price file specifically for SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Oklahoma City, including Bone & Joint.

Why there is no single “doctor fee”

A doctor visit can vary based on specialty, visit complexity, procedures performed, whether the clinic is hospital-based, insurance network status, deductible, copay and coinsurance.

Why there is no single “ER fee”

An emergency visit can generate charges for:

  • Emergency-department facility services
  • Emergency physician evaluation
  • Laboratory tests
  • X-rays, CT or other imaging
  • Medication
  • Procedures
  • Observation
  • Specialist consultation
  • Hospital admission if required
Service Why final cost varies Best action
Doctor office visit Specialty, visit level, tests, insurance and clinic billing type. Ask the physician office and insurer before the appointment.
Emergency Room Medical severity plus tests, medicines, imaging and procedures. Do not delay emergency treatment for a price quote.
MRI / CT / ultrasound Type of imaging, contrast, interpretation and insurance benefits. Request a personalized estimate before scheduled imaging.
Surgery Hospital, surgeon, anesthesia, pathology, implants and length of stay. Get an estimate and confirm all professional providers.
Childbirth Delivery type, hospital stay, OB fee, anesthesia and newborn care. Request a maternity estimate and verify benefits.
Hospital admission Diagnosis, room level, ICU use, testing, drugs and procedures. Use SSM Health’s estimate and financial-counseling resources.
An estimate is not a guaranteed final bill. SSM Health says final cost may change because of complications, additional physician orders, medication use, observation/admission status or insurance processing. The hospital estimate also does not necessarily include separately billed physician, anesthesia, pathology or radiology services.

Billing, payment methods and payment plans

SSM Health has a system billing team for hospital and many medical-group accounts.

Payment arrangements

Patients unable to pay the entire balance can call Customer Service to discuss payment arrangements. SSM Health also offers a 0% interest financing program through Commerce Bank for eligible hospital balances.

Why another company may send a bill

Some services can be provided by contracted professional groups. For example, SSM Health’s billing information specifically notes that emergency, radiology, ICU or hospitalist professional services may sometimes generate separate statements.

Financial assistance, uninsured discounts and help with medical bills

Patients who are uninsured, underinsured or otherwise unable to afford medically necessary care can apply.

Financial Assistance / Billing (888) 918-3512

Mon-Thu 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Fri 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Financial Aid Email financialaid@ssmhealth.com

Applications may also be submitted by mail or fax.

SSM Health bases hospital financial assistance on financial need using Federal Poverty Level guidelines, household income and household size.

Emergency medical care is provided regardless of a person’s ability to pay.

Documents generally required

  • Completed financial-assistance application
  • Verification of household income for the most recent two months
  • Most recently filed federal tax return or IRS non-filing letter
  • Other documentation requested to verify household circumstances

Uninsured patients

SSM Health states that uninsured patients automatically receive a discount on their hospital bill. Receiving that uninsured discount does not prevent a patient from also applying for additional financial assistance.

Underinsured patients

Patients who have insurance but still face unaffordable medical costs may also qualify depending on the program and their financial circumstances.
