How to make an appointment at Riley Children’s Hospital

Some Riley providers can be booked online, while many specialty programs use a direct department number or require a referral.

Identify the specialty. Cardiology, neurology, GI, surgery, cancer, pulmonology and nephrology each have direct clinic numbers.
Check whether the provider requires a referral. Some subspecialists, particularly neurology and advanced programs, accept patients through physician referral.
Book online when eligible. Riley allows online booking with selected providers and appointment types.
Or call the specific clinic. Direct specialty numbers are listed below.
Confirm the exact building and suite. Many outpatient visits are at 575 Riley Hospital Dr. rather than inside the inpatient tower.
Use My IU Health after your child is established. Eligible appointments can be scheduled or managed electronically.

2026 IU Health financial assistance for Riley families

IU Health provides financial assistance for qualifying emergency and medically necessary care.

Uninsured hospital patients: IU Health’s 2026 summary states that uninsured patients receiving qualifying hospital care automatically receive a discount and are billed no more than the amount generally billed to patients with insurance at that hospital.
