Why costs differ

A visit can involve multiple categories of charges:

  • Hospital/facility services.
  • Physician professional fees.
  • Anesthesia.
  • Radiology interpretation.
  • Pathology.
  • Laboratory testing.
  • Medication.
  • Implants and medical supplies.
  • Procedures and surgery.

Pricing questions

Lutheran General pricing counselor (847) 723-5061

Advocate also offers online cost-estimate tools for eligible planned services through its price-transparency and patient-estimate systems.

Estimate vs final bill

An estimate can change if the actual care differs from the expected service, additional testing is required, complications occur or the insurer processes the claim differently.
