Where is the Emergency Room entrance?

The Emergency Room is accessed through the Pavilion ER entrance on Walker Avenue, between N.W. 10th Street and N.W. 9th Street.

Dedicated emergency parking is available near the East Walker Avenue entrance.

Joyful Beginnings Childbirth Center is located on the second floor of St. Anthony Hospital. When a laboring patient arrives, a labor-and-delivery nurse evaluates the patient, contacts the physician and completes needed admission steps.

Patients who are still in early labor may be monitored in an outpatient observation area before formal admission.

Level II NICU

St. Anthony Hospital has a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with capacity for 15 neonatal patients.

The NICU is staffed by neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and neonatal registered nurses. Rooms include space designed to support parents staying with and participating in their newborn’s care.

Baby-Friendly designation

Joyful Beginnings is currently identified by SSM Health as a Baby-Friendly designated hospital, recognizing maternity practices that support breastfeeding education and mother-baby care.

Outpatient breastfeeding help

International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants provide outpatient consultations even for mothers who did not deliver at St. Anthony or do not use an SSM Health physician.

Endoscopy arrival

Endoscopy patients may use the hospital’s Endoscopy Center entrance on N.W. 9th Street between Lee and Dewey avenues. This entrance can also be used as a patient drop-off point for inpatient or outpatient services when valet is not preferred.

Patients may receive hematology/oncology consultation, treatment planning, radiation therapy, diagnostic services and supportive cancer care through the St. Anthony network.

Why another company may send a bill

Some services can be provided by contracted professional groups. For example, SSM Health’s billing information specifically notes that emergency, radiology, ICU or hospitalist professional services may sometimes generate separate statements.

SSM Health bases hospital financial assistance on financial need using Federal Poverty Level guidelines, household income and household size.

Emergency medical care is provided regardless of a person’s ability to pay.

Uninsured patients

Meds-to-Bed

The Meds-to-Bed program allows eligible discharge prescriptions to be filled by the outpatient pharmacy and delivered to the patient’s hospital room before going home.

Prescription copays are paid directly to the pharmacy and cannot simply be added to the hospital bill.

West parking garage

Enter from N.W. 9th Street near Shartel Avenue. During construction, take the garage elevator to the first floor and cross into the hospital through the first-floor concourse/tunnel.

South parking garage

A second garage is at Dewey Avenue and N.W. 9th Street. During its published weekday operating period, visitors can take the elevator to the third floor and use the glass walkway into the hospital.

Open parking lot

Additional open parking is available south of N.W. 9th Street between Walker Avenue and Dewey Avenue.

Accessible parking

Accessible spaces are available:

Endoscopy drop-off

Endoscopy patients can use the dedicated entrance on N.W. 9th Street between Lee and Dewey avenues. Other hospital patients may also use this point for drop-off when they prefer not to use valet parking.

Visiting rules can differ for intensive care, behavioral medicine, maternity, NICU, isolation and other specialized areas.

Call 405-272-7000 and ask for the patient’s unit before making a special trip, particularly for overnight visits, children visiting, ICU or NICU access.

Oklahoma No Patient Left Alone Act

SSM Health St. Anthony operates under Oklahoma’s No Patient Left Alone Act. Under the published hospital guidance:

• A hospitalized minor has a right to have a parent, guardian or person standing in loco parentis present while receiving hospital care.
• An adult hospital patient may designate a spouse, family member or caregiver to be present.
• Reasonable restrictions can apply for safety, medical necessity, privacy or disruptive behavior.
• Restricted areas such as operating rooms, isolation areas or certain behavioral-health settings can have additional limitations.

Which entrance for inpatient visitors?

During the current west-entrance construction, visitors using the west garage should enter from N.W. 9th Street near Shartel, take the elevator to the first floor and use the hospital concourse/tunnel.

Hospital-wide wireless internet is available through the Saints Link guest network.

ATM

A 24-hour ATM is on the second floor south of the main elevators.

Pastoral care

The chapel is on the second floor near the west Lee Avenue area and is open for prayer and worship. Current Mass schedule:

Gift shop

The gift shop is on the second floor near the west entrance area.
