Mass General Main Campus, Buildings & 2026 Entrance Changes

Mass General’s downtown Boston campus spans nearly 30 buildings. The main hospital address is 55 Fruit Street, but outpatient appointments may be in the Wang Ambulatory Care Center, Yawkey Center, Lunder Building, Cox Building, 165 Cambridge Street or another nearby Mass General facility.

Current construction issue: access to the traditional 55 Fruit Street main entrance has been limited since March 3, 2025 because of construction related to the Phillip and Susan Ragon Building connector. Emergency Department drop-off remains an exception. For routine patient drop-off, Mass General currently recommends the Wang Building or Yawkey Building.

White Building / Main Entrance

55 Fruit Street

Considered the traditional main entrance. The White Building itself is accessible and normally open 24 hours, but current construction limits routine access around the main entrance.

Wang Ambulatory Care Center

15 Parkman Street

This is Mass General’s currently recommended accessible main-campus entrance for many routine arrivals. It connects directly to the White Building/main hospital by elevator.

Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care

32 Fruit Street

Major outpatient clinics are located here, including orthopedics, cancer services and OB/GYN programs. Yawkey has its own underground parking garage and valet service.

Lunder Building

Adjacent to the White Lobby.

The building is accessible and Mass General lists it as open 24 hours.

Cox Building

100 Blossom Street

Accessible by elevator from the sidewalk-level entrance and connected to the main hospital. The entrance is listed as open 6 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Friday.

165 Cambridge Street

Home to several outpatient services including the main Boston Urology clinic. Patients here should generally use the Charles River Plaza Garage at 207 Cambridge Street.

Boston local tip: do not type only “MGH” into your GPS and assume the first entrance is correct. Use the exact building/address in Patient Gateway or your appointment confirmation, especially during Ragon Building construction.

Mass General provides X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and advanced/interventional imaging. Scheduling numbers vary by test and clinical service, so use the ordering department’s instructions or the main switchboard if the order does not include a scheduling number.
