Level III trauma capability

The Level III designation means the hospital can provide immediate trauma assessment, resuscitation, emergency surgery, intensive care and stabilization around the clock. Advanced trauma capability includes access to services such as orthopedic, neurosurgical, vascular and hand-surgery expertise when needed.

Labor & Delivery is on the second floor of the main hospital.

Daytime arrival

Because the old north Labor & Delivery entrance off Randol Mill Road is closed, daytime maternity patients should park and use the main hospital entrance facing Wright Street. From inside, use the D elevators to the second floor.

Nighttime arrival

At night, enter through the Emergency Department entrance off Randol Mill Road, then take the D elevators to Labor & Delivery.

Texas Health Arlington Memorial operates a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The NICU is a secure unit on the first floor near the north side of the hospital.

Parent access

Parents are generally welcome around the clock except during:

• 6:30-7:30 a.m. — nursing shift change.
• 6:30-7:30 p.m. — nursing shift change.
• 12:30-1:30 p.m. — requested newborn quiet time.

Other visitors

A parent may accompany one additional visitor age 16 or older to the baby’s bedside. A parent wearing the baby-identification wristband must remain present, and the unit asks that only two people be at the bedside at one time.
