Reasons the OB Emergency Department evaluates patients include

Level III NICU: location, parent hours and visitor rules
Texas Health Arlington Memorial operates a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The NICU is a secure unit on the first floor near the north side of the hospital.
Parent access
Parents are generally welcome around the clock except during:
- 6:30-7:30 a.m. — nursing shift change.
- 6:30-7:30 p.m. — nursing shift change.
- 12:30-1:30 p.m. — requested newborn quiet time.
Other visitors
A parent may accompany one additional visitor age 16 or older to the baby’s bedside. A parent wearing the baby-identification wristband must remain present, and the unit asks that only two people be at the bedside at one time.
