Parents are encouraged to spend as much time as possible with their baby and may visit around the clock, with temporary restrictions during shift-report periods.

Where to go on surgery day

Scheduled surgery patients should enter through the hospital’s clearly marked Surgery entrance. Families then check in with the security desk and pre-surgery registration.

Valley Children’s currently allows two healthy adults to accompany the child in the pre-surgery room.

When are results available?

Valley Children’s states that laboratory results are generally available when resulted. Many radiology results are also released promptly, while advanced imaging such as MRI, CT and fluoroscopy may take up to approximately 24 hours to appear.

Parent proxy access after age 12

Parent/legal guardian proxy access changes when a patient turns 12. Expanded proxy access after age 12 requires additional authorization from the adolescent patient each year, reflecting California confidentiality requirements.
