Yes. Children’s Hospital New Orleans officially unveiled the name Manning Family Children’s on February 5, 2025. Older medical records, referrals, insurance information, maps and web searches may still use “Children’s Hospital New Orleans,” “CHNOLA” or similar wording.

The main hospital did not move as part of the name change. The primary campus remains at 200 Henry Clay Avenue in Uptown New Orleans.

The main-campus Emergency Department has 46 beds and treats children from birth through age 21. The hospital provides round-the-clock laboratory and imaging support, with pediatric specialists such as surgeons, cardiologists and neurologists available when required.

A child’s financial responsibility can change based on specialty, service, insurance network, copay, deductible, coinsurance, tests and whether separate professional fees apply.

The hospital’s billing information specifically explains that published hospital charges may not include separately billed physician or other professional services such as radiology, anesthesiology, pathology, emergency medicine or consulting providers.

Emergency room fee

The Emergency Department does not publish one flat charge applicable to all patients. An ER visit may involve facility services, physician evaluation, laboratory tests, imaging, medication, procedures or specialist consultation. LCMC Health currently accepts secure payments through MyChart using credit/debit cards, electronic checks (ACH), Apple Pay and Google Pay. Check and money order are also accepted. The hospital tells families not to send cash by mail.

Financial assistance

Manning Family Children’s maintains financial-assistance programs for eligible families who have difficulty paying for medically necessary care. Current policy materials and applications are provided in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

The hospital also publishes information identifying providers who are covered and not covered by its hospital financial-assistance policy, because some clinicians may have separate billing and collection policies.

Child-sitting service for inpatients

Volunteer sitters may be available for hospitalized children so parents can take a short break. The hospital asks families to contact Guest Services at extension 84444, preferably one day in advance. Service is limited by volunteer availability and is generally limited to two hours so more families can use it.

Spiritual Care can be reached at 504-508-0954. The hospital chapel is near the Main Concourse information desk and welcomes families of all faith traditions.

Interpretation may be provided in person, by video or by telephone using certified medical interpreters.

Service animals

Service animals are welcomed at Manning Family Children’s and its clinics in accordance with ADA requirements, except where a direct safety threat or fundamental alteration of services would apply.

Manning Family Children’s operates a dedicated Behavioral Health Center near the main campus.
