What happens at a cardiology visit?

IU Health says patients are checked in by front-office staff, then a medical assistant reviews medications, takes vital signs and performs an ECG when required. The cardiologist then reviews symptoms, testing and treatment options, and a cardiology nurse can arrange additional testing or follow-up before the patient leaves.

Lung transplant

Methodist hosts Indiana’s only lung-transplant program. IU Health reports more than 35 years of lung-transplant experience and more than 1,200 lung transplants completed.

The program performed 46 lung transplants in 2025 and celebrated its 1,200th transplant in April 2025.

IU Health also states that when income is above its standard FPL criteria but the eligible amount owed is more than 5% of annual household income, the patient may qualify for a discount that reduces the patient balance to approximately 5% of annual household income under the policy.
