Use the address shown in Patient Gateway or the appointment reminder. During construction, Mass General specifically recommends Yawkey or Wang for routine drop-off.
The GA level of Fruit Street Garage, immediately before the exit gates, is also designated for short-term/live parking. The first 30 minutes are free.
Patient pickup
Patients can be picked up at Wang Circle off Parkman Street or in front of Yawkey from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The patient should be ready before the driver arrives because vehicles cannot wait at the curb.

Mass General Emergency Department: hours, visitors, billing and what to expect
Do I need an appointment?
No. Emergency Department visits are unscheduled. Patients are prioritized by medical urgency rather than strictly by arrival time.
Emergency visitors
- Emergency Department visiting is permitted 24 hours a day.
- Adult patients generally may have one visitor or support person.
- Pediatric patients generally may have two visitors or support people.
- The hospital can further limit visitors when volume or clinical circumstances require it.
What is the Mass General emergency-room fee?
An emergency visit can generate charges for the hospital/facility plus professional services. Additional charges may come from laboratory tests, radiology, medications, procedures, supplies, anesthesia, pathology or an inpatient admission.
Mass General Brigham publishes the hospital’s machine-readable standard-charge file, but the health system specifically states that the file is not a patient out-of-pocket estimate. Negotiated insurance rates can also change during the year.
Hospital versus professional charge
The hospital portion can include equipment, technology, supplies, laboratory work, radiology and hospital resources. The professional portion covers the physician or other clinician’s work evaluating and treating the patient, interpreting tests and coordinating care.
Can I get an ER estimate before arriving?
A reliable final emergency price usually cannot be known before evaluation because no one yet knows the required emergency level, testing, treatment or whether admission will be necessary.

After an Emergency Department visit
If you are prescribed medication, the Wang outpatient pharmacy may be convenient before leaving:

Eating or drinking while waiting
Ask the clinical team before eating or drinking because a test or procedure may require fasting. Coffee Central in the main hospital corridor operates 24 hours a day.

Why the same appointment can have two types of charges
At a hospital outpatient practice, a patient may receive a professional clinician charge plus a hospital outpatient facility fee. The facility portion supports the hospital space, equipment and support staff.
An insurer may apply that facility charge to a deductible or coinsurance differently from an ordinary physician-office copay.

Mass General financial assistance and payment help
Mass General Brigham offers several ways to help people who cannot afford medical bills.
Low-income financial assistance
Current system guidance describes a 70% to 100% discount on eligible emergency and medically necessary bills for qualifying patients with household income below 301% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines who meet the other program conditions.
The low-income discount generally does not apply to ordinary insurance copays, coinsurance or deductibles.
25% discounted-payment option
A current Mass General Brigham program provides a 25% discount on eligible bills when the patient pays or establishes an eligible payment arrangement within two months of the first bill. Insurance copays, coinsurance and deductibles are excluded from that discount.
0% interest payment plans
Patients can set up a 0% interest monthly payment plan, including for bills involving deductibles, copays or coinsurance.
